“Gentle Awakening”

Today’s featured inspirational beach scene is “Gentle Awakening”. At the time I captured this sunrise, I was in awe of the contrast of colors. I had never seen shades of light blue, dark blue, blue-violet and peach! Because blues and orange-peach hues are opposite each other on the color wheel, it made me think of how opposites can be together in harmony. This sunrise was certainly an amazing example of that. This was one of the earliest captures that somehow spoke to me, not just displaying the obvious beauty of nature, but to deliver a message or an idea that applies to life. At the time, I was thinking about how we have goals outside of the “normal” or conventional. The bigger dreams. Dreams that in order to fulfill, require us to get out of our comfort zone to become a better version of ourselves. Depending on our environment perhaps, we have to leave certain habits, limiting beliefs and other’s expectations of us, behind in order to move forward. The title of this sunrise was born from this observation: The soft peach glow slowly makes its way to the horizon. Though opposite from the dominant dark blue, its beauty surfaces harmoniously. Your dream may be opposite from conventional, but it can come to light. If a dream calls you, be open to pursuing it. It may become your “Gentle Awakening”.
